Chronic constipation is the most common GI complaint, at least in this country.
The usual remedy for constipation is fiber. Try bulking with fiber first. For some people this remedy does not always work. In a published study, 80% of the patients suffering from increased bowel transit time, commonly referred
to as constipation, did not respond to increased fiber. So, if insufficient fiber is not always the cause of constipation, then what is?
